Your Portrait

Your portrait
Won't replace the warmth and comfort
Of your embrace.
It calms the heart, if for a moment,
But does not soothe the soul
Or fill this deep, vast, longing.
This desire,
To be with you once more.

Your portrait
Doesn't capture the inner beauty
That enraptures.
It caught the glow, but not the fire,
Of life and spirit and love
That draws me in and inward,
Ever closer,
To be one with you once more.
