Forever, No More

A boy, I would awaken every day
To find that I was in my favourite place.
If only, there, forever, I could stay,
Forever letting sunshine warm my face.
Forever hearing voices that I keep
Close to my heart for all eternity.
Forever feeling morning breezes sweep
Away the demons that have troubled me.
Forever watching waves come rolling past,
To listen as they crash upon the shoal.
Forever walking barefoot in the grass,
So that the morning dew would cleanse my soul.
A man, I still awaken every dawn,
To find those days of childhood have all gone.
