Poetry

Late Snow

Snow blankets the field
White cotton blends with red earth
A pink comforter

April snows bring life
A poor man's fertilizer
Old hands welcome it

April snows bring hope
Foretelling a good harvest
A bounty for all

It dampens the soil
But I am waiting for spring
It dampens the soul
