Baker - At North Vancouver, B.C., on Thursday, April 14, 1977, Mrs. Mattie Baker, wife of the late Donald Baker, formerly of Eustane Street, Summerside, aged 87 years. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, at 1:30 p.m. Entombment in People's Cemetery receiving vault. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
MacFarlane - At Summerside on Friday, April 14, 1977, Mrs. Sadie MacFarlane (Irene), wife of the late Wilbur Lorne Macfarlane, of Summerside, in her 75th year. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home in Summerside until Monday noon, then to the Trinity United Church in Summerside for service at 1 p.m. Entombment in the People's Cemetery receiving vault. Visiting hours this evening 7 to 9: Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mourn Death Mrs. Sadie MacFarlane; 75
A well-known Summerside resident, Mrs Sadie Macfarlane passed away Friday evening in her 75th year.
Mrs. MacFarlane, wife of the late Wilbur Lorne Macfarlane, was born in Westbrook, N.S., the daughter of the late Herbert Fulton and Frances Elizabeth (Dodge) Fulton. Her husband predeceased her in 1941. She belonged to Trinity United Church, Summerside.
Surviving are daughter, Betty, Mrs. Ivan Curley, Summerside; daughter, Jessie, Mrs. Ray Lund, Summerside; son, Ron, Hantsport, N.S.; daughter, Wilburta, Mrs. Robert Hanslam, Greenwood, N.S.
Also surviving are sisters: Ruby, Mrs. Joseph Troop, Annapolis County, N.S.; Cynthia, Mrs. Lyle Burns, Amherst N.S.; Lila, Mrs. Howard Corkum, Waltham, Mass.; Ella and Alice in the USA. Lucille and Glorence predeceased her. Surviving brothers are: Bliss, Frank, Russell, Herbert and Layton in the USA; Lloyd, Annapolis County, N.S.
The body is resting at the Rooney Funeral Home in Summerside. Funeral on Monday to Trinity United Church for service at 1 p.m., with entombment in People's Cemetery receiving vault.
Former S'side Resident Dies
Mrs. Mary Edna Ellis, 53, of Fredericton RR 1, Lincoln, N.B., died in Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, April 3.
Born in Summerside, she was a member of the Wesleyan Church. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; three sons, Ervin, Gander, Nfld.; Donald, Lincoln and Richard at home two daughters - (Rosalie), Mrs. Richard Bonin, Montreal; (Alma), Mrs. Douglas Plumstead, Fredericton, N.B.; two brothers, Arthur MacKinnon, Summerside; Frank, Springhill, P.E.I.; a sister, (Glayds), Mrs. Lawrence Dyment, Elkford, B.C., 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Carl, predeceased her in 1968.
Funeral service was held at the Wesleyan Church, Tuesday at 2 p.m., with her pastor Rev. B. C. Cockrane officiating and Rev. Maxwell assisting.
Funeral Held: The funeral of William A. Gay of New Hampshire, and formerly of Summerside, was held Friday afternoon at the Moase Funeral Home, where service was conducted at 3 p.m. by Rev. Merrilll MacLeod. Entombment was in People's Cemtery receiving vault.
Funeral Held: The funeral of A. Roland Gay, 339 Myrtle Street, Summerside, was held Friday afternoon at the Moase Funeral Home where service was conducted by Rev. Robert Fourney, assisted by Rev. George Snudden. A solo, In The Garden, was rendered by Brian Waugh. Organist was Mrs. Oreta Burk. Pallbearers were the following sons, Robert, Bev, Donald, Stan, Gordon and Gerald Gay. Flower-bearers were, Eric MacDonald, Dan Desjardins, Wayne Gay and Allan Gay. Entombment was in People's Cemetery receiving vault.
